Teen Program

Teens are the busiest people we know! Their schedules are filled with challenging academic responsibilites, demanding extracurricular activites, and necessary social engagements. We strive to give teens the chance to try something new with dance, or to continue with something they’ve enjoyed in the past. Developing skills, making friends, and building confidence.are all goals of our Teen Program.

JAZZ

Jazz is an energetic, high paced class that focuses on strength, flexibility, and technique. This 45 minute class will teach the fundamental skills of jazz in a high energy setting. Students will learn jumps, leaps and turns along with combinations and routines across the floor and center!!

STRETCH/LEAP/TURN: ALL AGES

Stretch, leap, turn focuses on dance technique for a dancer who wants to improve and accelerate their training. This class will teach proper body alignment, stretches geared to improve technique and flexibility, core work, strengthening, correct placement and fine-tune their leaps and turns. The class will help students develop new skills and movements for all dance styles. All competition dancers are required to take.

TUMBLING

Tumbling is a class that teaches tricks and acrobatic skills increasing strength, flexibility, and coordination. The class will be divided into two groups based on skill level. Tumbling and tricks will incorporate strengthening and flexibility exercises, acrobatic mat skills, dance technique tricks including floor work and partnering moves. Your dancer will learn the fun of tumbling in this high energetic, paced class!

MODERN

Modern dance is the dance style that came from rejecting the strict rules of ballet. Modern focuses on the art of dance through flow, groundation, floor work and exploration of new, creative movement. In this 30 minute beginner/intermediate class students will learn an introduction to modern technique with vocabulary and fundamentals.

In this 1 hour advanced class students will learn modern technique with exercises focusing on the use of floor work involving strength and flow. This class is for students who have previous modern experience.

CONTEMPORARY & LYRICAL

Contemporary dance connects the mind and body through fluid movements combining techniques from modern and ballet. This class will teach students to use emotion through movements, technique skills in center and across the floor, and choreographed combinations.  Dancers will learn how to fill and feel the music with movement and grasp the style from this class, all levels included!

BALLET

Beginner

Ballet is the fundamental core of dance that teaches grace, balance, discipline, strength, flexibility, and technique. This class will teach the beginner basics using vocabulary, barre, across the floor and center work. This is a great class to teach the fundamentals and add on to our beginner jazz, tap and modern!

Advanced/Intermediate

Ballet is the fundamental core of dance that teaches grace, balance, discipline, strength, flexibility, and technique. In the advanced ballet class dancers continue their training and growth of the technique in barre, across the floor and center.  Ballet supports different dance styles like jazz, modern and hip hop and is the foundation of dance technique.

Pre-Pointe

Pre-Pointe is the foot work and exercises to strengthen and prepare dancers for pointe. This class requires students to be in intermediate or advanced ballet and teacher approval.

TAP

Tap is a fast-paced rhythmic dance style that uses feet as your instrument.  Tap teaches beat, timing, rhythmic patterns, and steps with terminology.  Dancers will learn various combinations and skills, all levels included!
